Other birthdays include Blair Thornton of Bachman-Turner Overdrive, John Rutsey of Rush, Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, Nick Menza of Megadeth, and Steve Jocz of Sum 41!
In 1980, Keith Godchaux of Grateful Dead died in car accident, just four days after his 32nd birthday.
During an R.E.M. show at Slane Castle in Dublin, Ireland, two fans died. One drowned in the nearby River Boyne and the other was allegedly pushed off a bridge.
In 1994, Asteroid 3834 is named after Frank Zappa, who had passed away the year prior. Named Zappafrank, the asteroid orbits the sun between Mars and Jupiter.
In 1977, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin and band manager Peter Grant were charged with assault after the two roughed up a security employee with the help of a bodyguard before a Zeppelin show at the Oakland Coliseum. Bonham and Grant plead guilty and settled out of court.
And finally in 2008, Kid Rock was sentenced to a year on probation due to his part in a fight at an Atlanta Waffle House the year prior. He also received 80 hours of community service and six hours of anger management.
