Today in Rock History – July 10

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s July 10th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting the day off with birthdays as it’s Ronnie James Dio’s birthday today!

It’s also the late Sandy West of The Runaways birthday!

We got The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night in 1964!

In 2010, Roger Waters makes a surprise appearance during a four song set by former Pink Floyd bandmate David Gilmour at an Oxfordshire benefit concert for Palestinian refugees

In 2012, Slash, who at the time was formerly of Guns N Roses, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Charlie Sheen, who hosted the event, commented that “It seems quite fitting that Slash is getting a star on the very street that Axl Rose will one be sleeping on.”

And finally in 2024, in a twist of comedic fate, Cypress Hill team up with the London Symphony Orchestra to perform a show at Royal Albert Hall. This combo appeared together in 1996, but in cartoon form.

This has been Today in Rock History! Keep on Rocking, keep on Rolling! Check back tomorrow for your next rock history lesson!
