Today in Rock History – November 30

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s November 30th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting the day off strong as we got Pink Floyd’s The Wall in 1979!

We also got Into the Unknown from Bad Religion in 1983 and the Collision Course EP from Linkin Park and Jay-Z in 2004!

It’s Billy Idol’s birthday today!

Other birthdays include Roger Glover of Deep Purple and Rainbow, David Sancious of the E Street Band, and John Moyer of Disturbed!

As well as Dale Stewart of Seether and Cherie Currie of The Runaways!

In 2019, Slayer retire after playing their final show at The Forum in California. The trash metal legends would reunite just five years later in 2024.

We lost Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac to a stroke in 2022. She was 79.

And finally in 2003, a block of East 2nd St in NYC was renamed to Joey Ramone Place after the lead singer of the Ramones. The block was where Joey lived with bandmate Dee Dee Ramone and was located near CBGB, where the Ramones played their first shows. In 2010, the city reported that the sign for Joey Ramone Place was the most stolen sign in New York. It would later be moved to 20 feet above ground level.
