Today in Rock History – March 27

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s March 27th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting off with releases and we’ve got a big one! The US release of Blizzard of Ozz in 1981.

We also got Easy Action from Alice Cooper in 1970, Bon Jovi’s 7800 Fahrenheit in 1985, 2001’s Every Six Seconds by Saliva, and Social Distortion’s self-titled album from 1990!

Moving onto birthdays, its Johnny April of Staind. Say it with me now:

In 1979, Eric Clapton marries Pattie Harrison, the ex-wife of friend and former Beatle, George Harrison. George attends the wedding and remained friends with Clapton. Pattie was also the inspiration of this classic Clapton song:

In 1986, Van Halen begins their first tour with Sammy Hagar in the lead vocal position.

Also in 1986, Metallica joins Ozzy Osbourne’s Ultimate Sin tour as Ozzy’s opening act.

Starting with Ozzy and (technically) ending with Ozzy? Just seems right.
