Today in Rock History – March 15

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s March 15th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Big day for albums today. We have Naked by Talking Heads, 13 from Blur, Get Your Wings from Aerosmith and Endgame by Rise Against

Don’t worry, I didn’t forget Destroyer.

Happy Birthday shout outs go to Joe Hahn of Linkin Park, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Bret Michaels of Poison, Tatiana Shmailyuk of Jinjer and Mark Hoppus of Blink-182

We lost Scott Asheton of The Stooges in 2014. Today is also noteworthy for The Stooges as it was on this day in 2010 that they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

In 2005, former lead singer of the Stone Roses, Ian Brown, was arrested after a fight during a concert in San Francisco. A fan jumped the railing and and attacked Brown on the stage. Brown was later arrested at his hotel but was promptly released without charge.

And finally in 2003, The Offspring announce their new album, called Chinese Democracy, which was in turn mocking the long-delayed Guns N Roses album of the same name. Offspring singer Dexter Holland said, “Axl ripped-off my braids, so I ripped-off his album title.” The album would be renamed later to Splinter.
