Today in Rock History – March 8

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s March 8th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

We got a bunch of releases today, including Queen II from Queen, Foreigner’s debut in 1977, and both Nine Inch Nails’ The Downward Spiral, and Superunknown from Soundgarden, two seminal albums of the 90’s released on the same day in 1994!

What you thought I would just play one? You clearly don’t know me that well.

Moving onto birthdays we have Gaz Coombes of Supergrass, Rufus Taylor (the son of Queen’s Roger Taylor) of The Darkness, and the late Clive Burr of Iron Maiden!

We lost Mike Starr of Alice in Chains and Days of the New in 2011.

In 2016, AC/DC announce the postponement of the rest of the US leg of their Rock or Bust world tour after singer Brian Johnson was told by doctors he was going deaf. The tour would resume in May of 2016 with GnR singer Axl Rose taking the helm for Johnson until he recovered.

And finally in 1993, MTV debuted a show about these two idiots:
