Well, you already knew the Indy 500 was pushed back to August. But now it looks like the event will be limited to 50% fan attendance.

Detroit News quotes IMS president J. Douglas Boles as saying, “We’re committed to running the Indy 500 on Sunday, Aug. 23 and will welcome fans to the world’s greatest racing venue. We will be limiting attendance to approximately 50%, and we are also finalizing a number of additional carefully considered health and safety measures.”

Even with only half of the audience allowed, 125,000 people could still pack into the stands as full capacity is about 250,000 people.

Boles has previously said that the event will not run without fans. We will just have to wait and see what happens if we’re not out of the woods by August 23.
