In 1986, Queen became the first western act in over 20 years to perform behind the Iron Curtain when they played Budapest’s Nepstadion. The show would be filmed and released as Queen: Magic in Budapest.
In 1976, after 4 years of dealing with the United States government trying to deport him, John Lennon was granted his green card.
Also in 1976, Bruce Springsteen sued his manager Mike Appel for fraud and mismanagement. Appel would counter-sue, leading legal proceedings to last almost 15 months and causing Springsteen to miss out on touring and recording. The case would be settled out of court.
We lost Leon Wilkeson of Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2001
And finally in 1986, a fan at a Cure concert at The Forum in L.A., moved to the center of the floor section and proceeded to stab himself multiple times with a hunting knife. The fan would survive and claimed he did it to impress a girl who rejected him.
