Happy Birthday, Leontyne Price!
Leontyne Price is known as the very first African America, internationally-recognized opera singer. Born today in 1927, she is best known for her roles in “Antony” and “Cleopatra.” But look at that make-up! She’s BEAT! Leontyne’s one of the originators of Black Girl Magic! Before my career in radio, I studied voice in high school. I starred in musicals and studied classical music, and Leontyne Price was one of my very first project subjects!
