On Monday, police say Rodney Gilliam and his brother Randy Gilliam were drinking alcohol and got into an argument.
Police said the argument was over a pot roast that Rodney was cooking. Randy claimed it was his.
Rodney allegedly grabbed a three-pronged fork and attempted to attack Randy. Police say Randy tackled Rodney and the two began to fight.
Rodney stabbed Randy with the fork, causing lacerations to the head and a puncture wound to the left forearm.
Authorities say Randy left the residence and got a ride to Ball Memorial Hospital while Rodney called police, accusing Randy of taking advantage of him.
Inside the home, officers found large amounts of blood. Blood was also found on Rodney’s clothes.
Officers stopped a vehicle Randy was riding in at South Biltmore Avenue and East Jackson Street and saw several lacerations. Randy was transported to the emergency room.
Police later collected the fork used in the alleged stabbing. Rodney was arrested just after midnight. He faces a charge of aggravated battery.
