The hits keep on coming as we also saw the release of Queen’s Sheer Heart Attack in 1974 and Transformer from Lou Reed in 1972!
In 1975, David Bowie made his US TV debut on Cher, performing his now iconic Fame.
It’s Pearl Thompson of The Cure and Rudy Sarzo of Quiet Riot’s birthday!
The 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony took place on this day. Inductees included Bad Company, Joe Cocker, Warren Zevon, The White Stripes, and Soundgarden!
In 2002, Pink Floyd member David Gilmour was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
We lost Dan McCafferty of Nazareth in 2022.
And finally in 1986, Metallica performed their first show with their new bassist Jason Newsted. Newsted joined the band as the replacement for Cliff Burton who died in a tour bus accident in September.
