Today in Rock History – July 22

Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s July 22nd and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Starting the day in 1999, as the infamous Woodstock ’99 began in Rome, New York. With to many stories to talk about that could honestly be it’s own blogpost, (you can watch the Netflix doc for that) the show brought an end to the Woodstock name and changed everything about how music festivals were ran from there on out.

Moving onto birthdays now as we have Don Henley of the Eagles!

Other birthdays include Steve Albini, Rick Davies of Supertramp, Brian Howe of Bad Company and Wil Calhoun of Living Colour!

One release today and that belongs to 2003’s Ocean Avenue by Yellowcard

In 2019, Queen’s music video for their song Bohemian Rhapsody became the first pre-1990s music video to reach one billion views on YouTube.

And finally in 1965, Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger, Brian Jones and Bill Wyman were fined £5 each in London after being found guilty for public urination. The three all urinated on a wall of a service station after the attendant refused to let them in to use the facilities.
