Are you ready to learn some stuff? It’s June 11th and here’s what happened Today in Rock History!

Beginning with releases, we have Slave to the Grind by Skid Row in 1991, Good Trouble from REO Speedwagon in 1982, and both In Violet Light by The Tragically Hip and Korn’s Untouchables in 2002!
It’s Frank Beard of ZZ Top’s birthday!
Other birthdays include: Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips, Johnny Neel of the Allman Brothers Band, Donnie Van Zant of .38 Special and Rome Ramirez of Sublime with Rome!
In 2019, Three years after the original ruling, an 11-judge panel in the US Court of Appeals reviewed its decision on whether the intro to the Led Zeppelin song Stairway to Heaven had plagiarized the intro on Spirit’s Taurus. The original ruling was in favor of Zeppelin and a year later, the court stuck with the original ruling.
In 2004, Courtney Love surrendered to US police after allegedly assaulting a woman at the home of her former manager and ex-boyfriend, Jim Barber on April 25th. Love was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was later released on bail.
And finally in 1968, while The Rolling Stones are recording their song Sympathy For The Devil, a fire breaks out in the studio! Some blamed Lucifer but it was actually due to a light that was being used by the camera crew there to document the session.
