Taco Bell has filed a petition for the ability to use the “Taco Tuesday” branding. Rival fast food chain Taco John’s has trademarked Taco Tuesday making it impossible for Taco Bell to legally use the branding in any of their marketing campaigns. What is a Taco John? It’s a fast food chain with locations in other areas of the United States. They are known for their “potato oles.” The closest Taco John’s to Indianapolis is near Fort Wayne.
Taco Bell will answer questions about their Change.org petition to “free” Taco Tuesday on a Reddit chat on May 22nd. Their stance is that no one should have a trademark on Taco Tuesday.
