If you thought the biopics were going to slow down in 2022, well, you were wrong. There are more than a few in the works, but one that you might be interested in checking out is coming to you via Roku (apparently they have their own channel?)
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, starts production in LA next month, according to Deadline. The movie is being done by Funny or Die and Tango and will star Daniel Radcliffe. That’s right, Harry Potter has been tapped to portray Weird Al.
Yankovic put out a statement that’s very much aligned with his brand, saying:
“When my last movie UHF came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork. I’m very happy to say we’re on schedule. And I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for.”
