9 Rock and Metal Songs That Are Better Than the Original

I really like a good cover.Contrary to what some people think, it’s not always blasphemy to consider a cover song better than the original.  Sometimes it just IS.  Here are 9 examples, according to Loudwire.com.  Do you agree with their choices?

1.  The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown) by Judas Priest.  Originally by Fleetwood Mac.

2.  Whiskey in the Jar by Metallica.  Originally by Thin Lizzy.

(This is actually a traditional Irish folk song.  But the Thin Lizzy version is a rock classic, and definitely what Metallica based their version on.  Also, I call B.S. on this entry.  Thin Lizzy RULES!!!)

3.  All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix.  Originally by Bob Dylan.

(I would argue this might be the best cover song EVER.)

4.  Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin.  Originally by Jake Holmes.

5.  Higher Ground, the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  Originally by Stevie Wonder.

6.  Renegades of Funk by Rage Against the Machine.  Originally by Afrika Bambaataa.

7.  Cum on Feel the Noize by Quiet Riot.  Originally by Slade.

8.  Summer Breeze by Type O Negative.  Originally by Seals & Crofts.

9.  I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.  Originally by Arrow.
