Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna passed away in a helicopter crash on Sunday. Many of the tributes on social media mention Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, and their surviving three daughters.
But, for the first time since the tragic accident, Vanessa made a public statement about the loss of her husband and daughter. Wednesday night she made her Instagram public and posted the following:

She thanks everyone for their support, love and prayers and gives her condolences to the families and friends of the other passengers on the helicopter. She also calls attention to a fund that has been set up for those families.
Vanessa goes on to ask for privacy as she and her daughters continue to grieve and figure out how to navigate their new world.
