This may excite some Twilight fans…but likely will leave many more shaking their heads in disbelief. USA Today reports that author Stephanie Meyer, who announced a fresh take in the series earlier in the year has unveiled that she will be re-releasing the first book…with the roles of Edward and Bella switched. You’re going to read the same book…but Edward is now Edyth and Bella now Beau.
Many fans were expecting the book to be a retelling of the first story through Edwards perspective after a leak of some chapters online, but no such luck. Will the book change heavily with a female vampire now wooing a teenage male boy? No, it’s the same book. Same dialogue. Just one’s now a boy and the other’s a girl.
I’m not a Twilight fan, but I am not surprised so many people are disappointed by the announcement.
