Fans were disappointed weeks ago when it was officially announced that Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley would not be returning for the reboot of the popular 90’s series Full House. While cast members like John Stamos, have come off as somewhat bitter the twins have opted out of Fuller House (which premieres on Netflix in 2016) longtime fictional and real life father figure to the twins Bob Saget understands. Saget spoke with E! Online at the premiere of the Entourage movie…

“They’re not doing it and I’m just happy that they’re happy…I want my friends to do what they want to do…They have a whole different creative life now.”

Initially it was implied that the Olsen twins were rejecting the offer due to the lack of money being offered for their part in the series. The story now, as more and more interviews are surfacing, is that the twins wish to put the section of their life where they are viewed as the same person behind.

It does leave the interesting question as to how Michelle Tanner will be explained away when the series finally starts filming. Will they kill her off similarly to the Tanner girls mother? It would be convenient, but maybe a little darker than what they are trying to accomplish with a new series. Of course a re-cast of the character will draw a lot of criticism and be met with controversy with cast and fans. If I had to guess I think the Olsen’s will eventually agree to a brief cameo for an episode. We can hope at least!
